Christmas Tree Ceremony

Monday, November 24, 2025 at 6:37 AM

A Christmas tree cutting ceremony hopes to encourage the purchase of New York State grown trees.

The annual tradition is intended to promote the purchase of New York State grown Christmas trees by encouraging consumers to shop locally as they pick out their trees this holiday season. After the ceremonial tree-cutting, the 8-foot balsam fir will be displayed at the Hudson Valley/Catskills Welcome Center in time for the busiest travel and shopping days of the year.
