Paranormal investigator Dan Rivera, who led the New England Society for Psychic Research, reportedly died during his Devil's On the Run Tour that featured the infamous haunted doll Annabelle. The tour stop in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, a site of significant paranormal activity due to the 1863 Civil War battle, was held on July 12th. That night, emergency responders were called to Rivera's hotel room, where they were unable to revive the 54-year-old with CPR. The cause of death is unclear. Rivera had developed an interest in the paranormal after his time in the U.S. Army and became a protege of the late Lorraine Warren, who had investigated the Annabelle doll in the 1970s with her husband Ed. In TikTok videos, Rivera hosted sold-out tour dates where he showcased variations of the Annabelle doll, while assuring guests they were "protected" from it. (Complex)
