A helicopter crash in South Africa is being blamed on an "unsecured" penguin. Fortunately, the January 19th incident did not result in any fatalities, but the way the animal was transported is being investigated. The South African Civil Aviation Authority's report said a specialist put a penguin from Bird Island in a cardboard box and brought it aboard the aircraft. The specialist lost his grip on the box, which slid into the pilot's cyclic pitch control level. While the helicopter sustained damage, no humans or penguins were harmed. "The absence of a proper, secured crate meant that the penguin's containment was not suitable for the flight conditions," the report reads. (UPI)
