A Florida woman and her dog managed to get away from a bear by distracting the bruin with cookies. Kristen Savage and her chihuahua Ringo were walking in the Markham Woods when she spotted the animal. To her dismay, the bear seemed very interested in her 13-pound pup. Savage then remembered she had a bag of cookies, which she threw at the bear. The bear, who turned out to be a mother with cubs, sniffed the cookies as Savage ran for her house. "I don't put blame on the bear. I'm sure she was just as scared as I was," Savage said. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials are working with locals to secure trash and other bear attractants. (UPI)
