Vandalism at Beach

Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 5:57 AM

The beach has reopened following a temporary closure to clean up after some vandals made a mess.

In announcing the reopening of the City Beach Mayor Wendell Hughes said the decision to close the beach temporarily was not an easy one, but it was necessary to ensure public safety and to allow time for proper assessment and repairs that were needed following acts of vandalism.  The mayor said new security cameras have been installed, and he asked the public to report any suspicious activity to the Plattsburgh City Police.
