The Clinton County Health Department warns that the ticks in Clinton County are waking up and will bite.
The Clinton County Health Department reports that ticks become active as soon as temperatures start reaching 40F and remain active until temperatures consistently drop below that mark in Autumn. The department also says that Lyme disease, carried by the deer (black-legged) tick, is the most common tick-borne illness in Clinton County. Director of Health Care Services, Nichole Louis, advises that “If you’ve been bitten by a tick, be sure to tell your doctor and be on the lookout for symptoms over the next few weeks.” The Health Department website has more information on ticks and tick-borne illnesses.
