The deadline to file taxes is just days away.
Last minute tax filers can get help with state taxes at the department of Taxation and Finance website tax.ny.gov. The department's personal income tax call center will also provide extended hours as the deadline to file approaches. Information on the helpline and the phone number are on the website. Should an extension be needed, the tax department notes that full payment of the properly estimated tax balance owed is due when requesting an extension prior to the April 15th deadline.
