An effort to stop the spread of invasive species includes Stewards at high-traffic boat launches.
Spread prevention stewards have been dispatched to boat launch sites through out the North Country. That puts then on the front line in the fight against the spread of invasive species. The stewards are part of a program managed by the Adirondack Watershed Institute at Paul Smith's College. The effort is the largest aquatic invasive species spread prevention program in New York State.
