More speeding tickets were issued this year vs last year during the State Police "Speed Week" campaign.
Troopers issued more than 12,000 tickets for speeding during the special “Speed Week” traffic enforcement effort. In Northern NY Troop B issued nearly 800 speeding tickets during the campaign which was conducted from June 9th to the 15th. The State Police used of Concealed Identity Traffic Enforcement patrol vehicles to better locate drivers on handheld devices. During the Speed Week detail last year, State Police issued about 1,000 less tickets for speeding.
