Law enforcement agencies throughout the State will be increasing patrols to target speeding through Sunday during “Speed Awareness” week. It is a high-visibility enforcement campaign to curb speeding. According to Research from Albany's Rockefeller College, unsafe speed was a contributing factor in 307 fatal crashes in 2023. During last year's “Speed Awareness” week, nearly 12,000 tickets were issued for speeding.
