A huge sixteen foot tall concrete culvert needs to be replaced to avoid future flooding on Rte. 3 in Cadyville.
Motorists will encounter a detour on Route 3 in the Cadyville area as the department of transportation works to replace a large culvert at Kelly Brook. The precast concrete culvert is 16-feet-high and eight-feet-wide and was built in 1957. The new culvert will improve water flow into the Saranac River and help prevent future instances of flooding that have occurred along route 3 in that area. During construction, a posted detour diverts traffic to Trudeau Rd, Route 374, and Church Road. No date of completion was given.
