This is the 10th year that experts will meet to discuss road salt and its effects on area bodies of water.
The Adirondack Champlain Regional Salt Summit is on Wednesday. The conference, hosted by The Lake George Association, includes presentations of academic research and focuses on the Adirondacks and Lake Champlain basin. The association reports that a science-to-solutions approach in reducing road salt--started ten years ago--has resulted in chloride levels trending downward. Wednesday’s Salt Summit is at the Fort William Henry conference center in Lake George.
