REAL ID enforcement starts May 7th
A little more than a month remains to get an ID that will allow you to fly domestically or enter a secure federal facility. The Department of Homeland Security has confirmed that REAL ID enforcement will begin on May 7th. For those who need to upgrade their state-issued ID before that date, the DMV is strongly encouraging them to act now. Those getting a REAL ID or an Enhanced ID must visit a DMV office in person and bring certain original documents that prove who they are and to have a new picture taken.
