Another case of rabies has been confirmed in Essex County according to the Health Department.
A raccoon found at a residence in Essex tested positive for rabies. The Director of Health Planning and Promotion, Jessica Darney Buehler, said this is the sixth lab confirmed case of rabies in Essex County this year. The Department determined through interviews that there were no human, pet or livestock exposures to this animal. Public Health Director, Linda Beers, urged residents to take advantage of the two remaining free rabies clinics offered this year.
