Proposed legislation that protects sanctuary wildlife

Peanut's law is proposed NY State legislation that requires an administrative hearing before the seizure or euthanization of an animal under the care of a wildlife sanctuary.  Assemblyman Matthew Simpson, whose district includes Essex County, supports the proposed law.  Peanut's law is named after a sanctuary squirrel that was seized and euthanized by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
