State officials are concerned that rising electric rates could derail efforts to electrify New York.
With NY State pushing for increased electrification of things, it’s critical that proposed rate hikes be scrutinized more than ever according to state officials. Governor Kathy Hochul announced yesterday that she is demanding the Department of Public Service closely examine proposed rate hikes by New York State Electric and Gas. Hochul said she doesn’t want utility companies to make additional profit from rate payers.
