The annual report on workers compensation fraud in NY has been released by the inspector General.
The yearly report showed a nearly 30% increase in cases of fraud in the state compared to 2023. It also identified $2.7 million in workers compensation misuse and 14 arrests for fraudulent conduct. The Inspector General said more than $1.4 million was awarded to defrauded state agencies, insurers and employers which also represented an increase as compared to 2023.
