A report shows NY is not doing a good job when it comes to the economic well-being of young people.
New York State is struggling to provide economic opportunities to young people, a new annual report finds. According to the "2025 KIDS COUNT Data Book" report published by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, NY improved its health and education rankings, but a high cost of living is restraining the economic well-being of children. While education improved, a close reading of the report shows more fourth graders aren’t proficient in reading, and more eighth graders aren’t proficient in math.
