NY Mascot Name Ban Discriminates

Fed's say the NY ban on mascot and sports team names violates civil rights laws.

The U.S. Education department’s civil rights office has determined that NY State’s ban on Native American mascots and team names is discriminatory because the ban doesn’t include names derived from other racial or ethnic groups.  State officials say the ban may be expanded to include other groups.
