Moose Closes Trail

Officials have shut down an Adirondack trail because a bull moose was spotted in the area.

The presence of a bull moose has temporarily closed the Goodman Mountain trail in the town of Tupper Lake according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.  Signage is posted at trail access points, and visitors are urged to seek alternative hiking destinations.  ENCON says this closure is a precautionary measure to protect the public and minimize disturbances to the animal.  DEC Wildlife experts are monitoring the situation closely and Forest Rangers will be actively enforcing the closure.
