For the first time ever the Town and City of Plattsburgh are working together on a Memorial Day event.
The Plattsburgh Memorial Day parade this May will be a collaborative effort between the town and city according to Supervisor Michael Cashman. The Town Supervisor said the parade route will start on what was considered the new base and end at the historic oval where a special ceremony will take place. He said they wanted to pay homage to the former Air Force base and the significant role it played in the history of the area. Mr. Cashman said it was 30 years ago this year that the base was closed.
