"Lights On With Energy Relief" (LOWER) is a new energy package supported by NY Assembly Republicans.
North Country Assemblyman Matt Simpson said “We Knew This Would Happen” as he joined concerned legislators voicing concern over the ongoing negative financial impacts of the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act. Simpson said, “Electricity rates have risen by 47.1% since 2019.” And he cited repeated warnings about impending grid reliability issues. Simpson is supporting the Assembly Republican Conference “Lights On With Energy Relief” package which includes a diversified energy strategy. The Assemblymen said “Heavy-handed, unfunded mandates are not working for Upstate communities.”
