NY's 12th annual invasive Species Awareness Week begins today with a local event scheduled.
The annual awareness campaign encourages New Yorkers to learn more about the fight against invasive species. Locally, there’s an event today at the Saranac Lake Free Library. The “Invasive Species Pull” will begin with a workshop that covers what makes a species invasive, and how to report invasive species. Attendees will then help remove and replace two invasive species—Japanese barberry and winged burning bush—from the landscaping in front of the library.
