Invasive Species

Money from the DEC will be coming to the North Country to fight aquatic and terrestrial invasive species.

The North Country region will receive over $300,000 from the DEC to fight invasive species.  Tupper Lake will get $75,000 to primarily treat Japanese knotweed a terrestrial invasive plant.  The Paradox Lake Association will get over $112,000 to for boat Stewards to target high risk entry points and the Upper Saranac Lake Foundation will get more than $140,000 to control aquatic invasive species. More than $5 million will be awarded by the Department of Environmental Conservation to fund 51 projects statewide.
