Temporary Retail hiring for the upcoming holiday season might be lower in the North Country this year.

If area retailers follow an apparent national trend, seasonal temporary hiring may be down for the upcoming holiday season.  Placement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas forecast overall holiday retail hiring this year could fall to its lowest point since the recession-hit season of 2009.  However, the firm acknowledges that only a handful of companies have made public commitments regarding holiday staffing.
