The Heidrick Funeral Home in Elizabethtown was destroyed early Tuesday morning.
Within hours of a catastrophic fire, the owners of Heidrick Funeral Home, Jerod and Chris Heidrick, sent out a press release saying they are planning to continue serving families without interruption by utilizing alternate locations and resources as needed. According to the Heidrick's, the funeral home is one of the longest continually operating family-owned funeral homes in NY State and one of the ten oldest in the USA. They say this year marks the 196th year the funeral home has been in business and they vowed to rebuild.
