The Comptroller, State Police Superintendent and County District Attorney all involved with the arrest.
The former Captain of the Town of Moriah Ambulance Squad was arrested for allegedly stealing over $14,000 from the Town according to State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli. 57-year-old Michael Moran "allegedly diverted resources meant to protect his community into his own pocket,” DiNapoli said. The Comptroller thanked Acting Essex County District Attorney Michael Langley and State Police Superintendent Steven James for their partnership in fighting corruption. Moran was charged with third degree grand larceny and arraigned in the Town of Moriah Court. He’s due back in court on October 21st to answer the allegations.
