As we approach the Memorial Day weekend, gas prices are up slightly compared to last week
The AAA says the price of gas is creeping up heading into the busy summer driving season. The national average for a gallon of regular is up 4 cents from last week, as the price of crude oil rises and demand goes up. In NY State the current average price per gallon of regular $3.13 a week ago it was $3.11 and a year ago it was $3.69. Typically, the seasonal increase in gas prices starts earlier in the spring, but lower crude oil prices so far this year have kept that from happening.
