The APA board voted to hold an adjudicatory hearing on a proposed howitzer test firing range in the park.
The board said the hearing will provide the permit applicant, agency staff, state agencies, local governments and landowners within five hundred feet of the land involved to present evidence and to argue contested issues before an impartial hearing officer. According to a press release from the APA, the length of the adjudicatory proceeding depends on several factors. The Board will ultimately make the final decision regarding the proposed project, and their decision will be based solely on the hearing record.
