Now through Saturday is "Fire Prevention Week" and the area Red Cross Chapter has recommendations.
This is “Fire Prevention Week” and the Red Cross is reminding people to test smoke alarms and practice a predetermined escape plan each month. The Red Cross says If a fire starts, occupants may have less than two minutes to get to safety. Local Red Cross Disaster Action Team Volunteers provide immediate emergency aid to people following fires in the region. The Red Cross is looking for Disaster Action Team Volunteers.
