Father Charged with Murder

A Canadian man who triggered an Amber Alert early Sunday morning by reporting an abduction has been charged with murder.

State Police report that the father of a 9-year-old girl who he reported as abducted from an I-87 rest area near Lake George has now been charged with Murder and Concealment of a Human Corpse. Luciano Frattolin, 45, of Montreal was arrested and taken to the Essex County Correctional Facility. State Police say the mother and Frattolin have been estranged since 2019. The child resided full time with her mother in Canada. The girl and her father were on the way back from a vacation when police believe the death of Frattolin's daughter Malina occurred. State Police Troop G BCI Captain Robert McConnell said the body of the young girl was found by law enforcement in the shallow portion of a pond in Ticonderoga. The public has been asked to contact the State Police with any information regarding this incident. Reportedly, Frattolin pled not guilty at arraignment.
