Explosive Detection Canine Training

Fifty-Seven canine teams from across the state participated in realistic scenario training.

The Explosive Detection Canine (EDC) training took place at the state preparedness center in Oriskany, NY.  The exercise allowed handlers and their canine partners to practice response and leadership skills in a variety of real-world scenarios involving explosives.  The state has more than 300 law enforcement explosive detection canine teams with annual support funding coming from the state Department of Homeland Security.
