The board of elections reports Clinton County saw a record number of people vote early this election.
Early Voting in Clinton County saw a record turn out this year according to David Souliere, Republican Commissioner of the county board of elections. Early voting covered a nine-day period that began on October 25th and ended on Sunday. Souliere reports that nearly 4,000 people voted early. The break down, he said, was 1,019 republicans, 34 Conservatives. There were 1,972 democrats and 13 working family voters who completed their ballot early. The balance of 894 were no party voters. Races of interest include a special election for the 115th Assembly district along with the Clinton County Clerk and Treasurer positions. There’s also a statewide ballot initiative involving the authorization of land use at Mount Van Hoevenberg.
