DOCCS working on plans to let inmates out early as a solution to staffing shortages.

The Department of Corrections and Community Supervision is working on a way to overcome facility staffing shortages.  The plan under consideration would let inmates out early as a way to reduce the prison population and thereby reduce the number of staff needed.  Senator Dan Stec and Assemblyman Billy Jones are among those critical of the plan.
