The area is under a drought warning along with several other parts of the NY state.
The state has issued a drought warning for twelve counties to include Clinton, Essex and Franklin. A warning declaration is a notice of impending and imminent severe drought conditions. There are no mandatory State restrictions under a drought warning. Public water supply purveyors and industries are urged to continue to implement local drought contingency plans and voluntary water conservation is encouraged on the part of the public. There are four levels of State drought advisories: watch, warning, emergency, and disaster.
