DMV Shutdown

Monday, January 19, 2026 at 5:48 AM

The DMV will be closed temporarily next month to allow for implementation of a new system.

The DMV shutdown will start on Friday afternoon February 13th.  DMV operations, including in-person, online and over the phone services are expected to resume on February 18.  Drivers with an upcoming license renewal or other DMV business should ensure the transactions are complete ahead of the planned shutdown.  The new modernized system will replace outdated technology going back decades, the DMV reports.
