NY State Department of Health wants nursing homes to increase COVID-19 vaccinations for residents.

The Department of Health is urging nursing homes and adult care facilities to take immediate steps to increase COVID-19 vaccination among residents, as updated data show that under half of residents statewide are currently up to date with the latest vaccine. Last year there were 349 COVID-related deaths among nursing home residents according to the State Health Department. A letter was sent to administrators of all nursing homes in the state, emphasizing their responsibility to offer the updated vaccine to residents and staff, consistent with State and federal guidance.
