Local residents say they're getting calls from someone who claims to be from the Sheriff's Department.
The Clinton County Sheriff's office has been advised that someone is calling people and identifying himself as Travis Jones, an investigator with the Clinton County Sheriff's Department. During the call it's said that a demand for money is made in order to avoid arrest. According to the Sheriff's Department, they do not have an investigator named Travis Jones and they would never demand money to avoid arrest. The Sheriff's office says these calls should be treated as a scam.
