The unemployment rate in Clinton County and statewide remains steady compared to a year ago.
The New York State Department of Labor released preliminary local area unemployment rates for August. The unemployment rate for Clinton County in August edged up slightly to 4.3% from last August when the number was 4%. Statewide the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate held constant at 4.0% in August compared to last August.
