NYS Inflation refund checks started going out to qualified tax filters on Friday. If you qualify for the one-time payment, you do not have to do anything; the check will automatically be sent. Checks will be delivered over a period of several weeks throughout October and November. Qualifications for getting a check include the filing of a state resident tax return with reported income in the approved thresholds and not being claimed as a dependent on another tax filers return. Payments range from $150 to $400 based on income and filing status. The check will be sent to the address on the most recent income tax form.
