The number of Canadian visitors to cross a local border into the U.S. is down year-over-year.
Border crossing numbers for June at the Champlain Port of Entry improved over May but were down compared to last year according to the North Country Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, commercial crossings—which are directly impacted by tariff rate changes--"remained strong and basically unchanged" when compared to a year earlier reported Garry Douglas, Chamber President. Douglas said, “active outreach continues in many forms” and, he said, “it remains important to extend heightened hospitality to the Canadians continuing to visit."
