A man last known to live in the Plattsburgh area has been identified as the body found in lake.
The Vermont State Police say the have uncovered no evidence to indicate the death of a man last known to live in the Plattsburgh area is suspicious. Sunday afternoon the man's body was found floating in Lake Champlain off Kibbe Point in South Hero, Vt. State Police report that following an autopsy he has been positively identified as 39-year-old Silas W. Smith. The Chief Medical Examiner's Office currently lists the cause of death as pending further investigation and testing. Anyone who may have information regarding Mr. Smith--especially his whereabouts over the weekend--is asked to call Vermont State Police at the St. Albans barracks 802-524-5993.
