While the NY State budget is still a work in progress, some parts are in place. One such spending measure is a multi-billion dollar allocation to eliminate the unemployment trust fund debt. According to Assemblyman Billy Jones, that caused unemployment insurance rates to increase even for businesses who didn't have layoffs. He said that was unjust and has been pushing for the state to provide dept relief to rectify the situation.
