The search started last April and ended Wednesday with the arrest of a Ticonderoga Man.
A Ticonderoga man wanted for attempted murder who police have been looking for since April has been arrested according to the Ticonderoga Police Department. Police Chief, Adam Hurlburt, said 29-year-old Jaccob T Sawyer was taken into custody Wednesday by the Tri-County SRT, now known as the Northern Regional Special Response Team. Following his arrest Sawyer was taken to the Essex County Jail pending arraignment. Additionally, Chief Hurlburt reports that the suspect’s mother, Sharri L. Merritt, 49, of Ticonderoga was arrested for Hindering Prosecution and was taken to the police station for further questioning. The operation was a multi-agency effort that included the Ticonderoga Police, NY State Police, Essex County Sheriff’s office and the Northern Regional Special Response Team.
