Researchers from the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health found that the general public might not know what they can do to reduce bird flu risk. 27% of respondents were willing to modify their diet to reduce risk of exposure, but 28.7% expressed reluctance to take a vaccine. 53.7% of respondents did not know that pasteurized milk is safer than raw milk. However, 71.3% did understand that cooking meat at high temperatures could eliminate bacteria. "Working closely with agricultural leaders, farm communities and food processing companies will be critical," Senior Scholar Kenneth Rabin said. (News Medical)
