Cat owners donate more frequently and to more charities than dog owners, according to Dartmouth College research analyzing nearly 800 million donation records. The study examined a decade of giving data from over 60 million Americans. Cat owners averaged 14 donations over 10 years compared to 11 for non-pet owners. Only 52% of cat owners donated to just one cause, while 63% of non-pet owners concentrated on single charities. Pet ownership ranked fourth in predicting donation behavior after income, education, and gender. Cat owners also leaned Democratic while dog owners showed higher Republican affiliation rates.
