61% Of Americans Think Being Frugal Is More Accepted Now

Monday, April 14, 2025 at 8:01 PM

61% of Americans think there's less stigma around being "frugal" than there was 10 years ago, a Talker Research survey of 2,000 adults found. Only 23% associate frugality with being "cheap", while 46% think it's about being careful with money. "More people are realizing that open conversations about budgeting, saving, and financial challenges are key to building confidence and making informed decisions," Janelle Sallenave said. 51% of younger Americans think the older generations are too private when it comes to money. "We’re seeing this shift reflected in recent social media trends which encourage people to talk more openly about their finances," Sallenave said. (Talker Research)
