This is the 79th edition of the deepest rivalry in Section VII football.
Beekmantown and Peru, the two largest schools in Clinton County and long-time archrivals, face off at 1 p.m. at the Eagles’ Nest.
As has been the case many times before, the matchup will likely decide the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference champion and top seed in the Section VII Class B playoffs.
The Eagles handled last year’s meetings 31-6 and 33-0. The red and gray secured their first Section VII championship since 2019, ending a three-year Peru reign.
This year, the Eagles and Nighthawks enter as the only undefeated teams in Section VII—another familiar sight.
Ryon O’Connell, former Nighthawks quarterback, is in his ninth season as head coach. He is the sixth HC in program history and bolsters a record of (52-29).
Beekmantown’s second-year bench boss Joe Fish is yet to lose a CVAC game in his tenure. Fish (11-2) is unofficially the 11th head coach in BCS history.
