CVPH Health Fair

The purpose of the health fair is to provide life saving information to people with no medical background.

Responding to medical emergencies is the focus of a community health fair sponsored by CVPH on June 7th from noon to 4 at Champlain Centre in Plattsburgh.  It’s called “Staying Alive” and the event will feature displays and exhibits about what to do if someone is choking, in need of CPR or having a stroke.  The use of an automated external defibrillator, called an AED will be explained and an overview will be given on how to administer Narcan.  According to Shana Riel, a CVPH clinical education coordinator, “Staying Alive” is aimed at people without a medical background.  She said “our goal is to provide practical, useful information” to be used in emergencies.
